This past weekend the Titans competed at the Smoky Mountains Regional in Tennessee, and…

WE WON! We won the whole shebang, the whole enchilada, the whole kit and caboodle – EVERYTHING! We won a team award for Excellence in Engineering, there was an individual award for Ava who won Deans List, and we literally won the finals as a first pick for Alliance 1! It came down to 2 out of 3, but we did it – WE WON A BLUE BANNER! We secured another ask to worlds with a robot that is competitive and a team that is ready for more. We spent all of Friday sitting at #1 but, had some tough matches Saturday morning and fell to 4th after our last match, but still got picked by Alliance 1.

This has been a Cinderella story of a year for us and we cannot even believe it is all happening this way. We love hearing about the little kids coming up to the pit to take pictures and ask questions about our robot because we are “the 1st place team.” We love it when the adults are excited to say this is a kid built robot and THEY MEAN IT. Our students designed it, they manufactured parts for it, they assembled it, they made improvements, they wired it, they tested it, they programmed it, and they drive it. These kids will be the real winners even in life because of those amazing people who took the time and understanding to teach it to them – thanks to our amazing mentors!
