Outreach Efforts & Community Events

The Titanium Titans Robotics Team keeps their calendar full throughout the off-season with a range of activities to help develop an interest in robotics and technology.

Team Sponsoring & Mentoring

Just like corporations understand the need to support college and high school programs, Titanium Titans understand how important it is to assist in the development of talent that, we hope, will one day join our team.

As a result, Titanium Titan team members work hard, in the spirit of gratious professionalism, to help teams at the FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST LEGO League (FLL) level organize and grow. Efforts include organizing information meetings, providing 501c3 status, and mentoring whenever possible. In fact, Titanium Titans sponsored two thirds of the FTC teams currently competing in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

FTC Scrimmage & Tech Career Fair

DECEMBER 13, 2014 — The Titanium Titans, in partnership with the Peters Township School District, hosted Western PA's firstever FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Scrimmage and Technology Fair for over fourteen robotics teams and hundreds of local residents. This scrimmage introduced the many rookie teams to the competition field and the general public to FIRST. Several colleges and technology companies provided information on STEM career paths for students and were also introduced to FIRST.

Community Events

To reach a broader audience, the Titanium Titans has set up a booth at the Peters Township Community Day. With demonstrations of their 2014 competition robot, Promethius, and appearances of the team mascot, a Titan fitted with a helmet and a sword, the team's booth drew large crowds. Team members also drove three of their robots at the 2014 4th of July Canonsburg Parade, which reported an estimated 50,000-60,000 in attendance. Most recently, the team has participated in the Houston Pumpkin Festival Parade and at Santa's Arrival Parade at Washingon Crowne Center, where they demonstrated a range of robots to a booth to children and other intereseted mall guests.
